Storytellers
We’re all a bit of a storyteller when it comes to life. It’s been with us since the dawn of time. We all have interesting stories. It’s all in the delivery.

Google Webfonts →
Very cool. Tired of the standard Arial, Courier or Verdana? Google’s got the hookup. At least 222 fonts to choose from. The site includes a nice browser to find what you need.

Orange11, day 2
Again, much more out there than I could post right now, dear reader. Check childrensministryonline.com and Kenny will have everything in detail now. I will probably go back through my notes this weekend and write more about it. Until then, here are a few things I learned:
Jeff Manion, author of The Land Between really was a nice surprise. There is lesson learned from the Israelites and their...

Orange, day 1
There are much better recaps than I could ever provide. Here’s what I came away with though.
I took the production pre-conference track and really enjoyed it. Anna Simmons provided the best line of the day for large group production: “We aim for perfection but we don’t depend on it.”
The theme for the conference is “It’s Your Move.” Instead of just...

What do I hope for at Orange?
When I mention to people I am attending Orange this week, it takes a little bit of explaining. After the initial pitch, they get it. One follow-up I do get is, “So, you’re taking off work for this?” My day-job is a System Administrator at an ad agency in Atlanta, GA. Children and family ministry is a side gig (or at times, another job).
Starting Wednesday, I’ll be at...

What are you reading?
My org coach asked if I could put a list of books together that I’ve read over the past couple of years. It didn’t take me too long to compile an initial list. Take a look.

I think I've been scared
I’ve been scared for a number of reasons.
Mainly about what people will think.
What if I’m wrong? What if the very first thing I put out there is mocked beyond recognition?
That’s the short of it for right now.
But, my domain is finally reconfigured and I am, yet again, back to blogging.
I’m going to put away the fear for now. I work in advertising but I am not an...

Confession
Today was an amazing day. I will be honest that had something hidden for nearly 30 years. I came clean today to those who I had wronged. It was a wonderful moment of forgiveness and reconciliation.
It started with a message from Andy Stanley at North Point Community Church. I attend another church in Atlanta but have his sermons in my podcast feed. The latest message on “Life...

Driver attacks cyclist after texting comment →
It goes without saying the disdain motorists have for cyclists around Atlanta. But heaven forbid we comment on the level of distraction you choose to engage in while driving.
Fear Factor
This week in our KidMin large/small group, we’re going to talk about Courage. It’s interesting that the opposite, fear, is acknowledged. It’s OK to have fear. As we learn this week, “when you’re afraid, remember God is with you.”
And, honestly, this week I was afraid. We’re in the midst of re-evaluating our curriculum. It’s not that it’s bad...
