I really needed to hear this song today. Since August 30, it’s been a hard ride. A hat tip to Dan and Merlin over at Back to Work. Love those guys.

BJ and the Bear was a favorite of my brother and I when we were young. The dueling between BJ and Sherif Lobo (played by Claude Aikins) was always compelling, especially when I was 9. It seemed that NBC was quick to capitalize on the character and launched an ill-advised spinoff. “The Misadventures of Sherif Lobo” lasted only two seasons. I still can hum the first season’s opening theme song. And now you will as well.

The Isolator, A Bizarre Helmet For Encouraging Concentration (1925)
I think I need to find this on Amazon.

Why are we so afraid of the red ink? Getting better at something takes feedback. It takes someone else’s eyes on it. And here’s the thing… you’re not going to score a 100% ever single time. If you do, find someone with a red pen quick. It means no one ever took the time to offer a note or to help you improve the thing that you do.
You should embrace the red pen. It means you’re getting better. (And you have the red pen, don’t be a dick. Help, don’t hurt.)

Every time Caillou is mentioned, I want to turn violent.
“Oh, NO!”
Holy shit. On Caillou right now.
If I suddenly “disappear,” please tell the world my story.
UPDATE 2011-09-29_09-54-15
Yes. this is totally real.
It’s at the end of the ep (the part with the song) and Caillou’s mother is reading him a book and talking about jobs he may have one day.
If memory serves, this one is, “…you could learn to play guitar…”
I’m looking into going underground. Now, more than ever, Canadian cartoons scare the shit out of me.
