I loved SCTV. Partly because there was a storyline that ran along side some of the most brilliant sketch comedy of its time. Yes, SNL was great then too. But, SCTV wasn’t afraid to do some absolutely ridiculous stuff. Like showing Michael McDonald drive across town to record his part for “Ride like the Wind” and then get in an argument over how much he was getting paid.
