There are much better recaps than I could ever provide. Here’s what I came away with though.

I took the production pre-conference track and really enjoyed it. Anna Simmons provided the best line of the day for large group production: “We aim for perfection but we don’t depend on it.”

The theme for the conference is “It’s Your Move.” Instead of just talking about it or dreaming, we need to move. It’s something I’m slowly moving toward (pun not intended). There were some great examples of where we need to move. Bottom line: We just need to move. Andy Stanley was the keynote speaker for the evening and talked through how influential the church really has beenmand how important we really are. Great history and scripture. Love when he speaks.

The thing I came away with tonight was a great conversation with our elementary school director. It was open, honest and transparent. Many of the dreams that I’ve been holding onto got a dose of reality poured onto it. Quite frankly, it needed it.

I bought a book just so I could get Andy to sign it. I was also able to share my story as a result of the Confession App. Great, great brief opportunity.

As I was leaving, I saw a text from my closest friend. He was checking in. He was familiar with Orange but didn’t realize it was going on. It was if God put that in place for us tonight.

A much different Orange for me this year. But things are much different than years’ past. More tomorrow.
